Agenda
The 7th annual North Dakota Nature and Rural Tourism Association conference and membership meeting will be held Tuesday, January 13, 2009. The gathering is part of the 20th anniversary of Marketplace for Entrepreneurs, which is being held at the Bismarck Civic Center.
“Share North Dakota” is the theme for this year’s event, which annually brings rural tourism operators together, according to NDNRTA President James Odermann of Belfield. “Our theme ‘Share North Dakota’ succinctly describes our mission and addresses the goal we have to welcome people to see the beauty of our state.”
Pre-registration is strongly encouraged. Conference registration is $5.00 for the entire day. An additional $10 purchases a luncheon meal during the NDNRTA Annual Meeting (held in the same room as the conference). To register, contact:

Liability Insurance Update - January 2008

The issue of affordable liability insurance for tourism
activities has always been a primary goal of the North Dakota Nature and Rural Tourism Association. Since 2005, NDNRTA has worked with the North Dakota Insurance Department to research problems and possible solutions for tourism operators in the state. Recently, some promising options have been identified. To determine the best course of action, NDNRTA decided to survey operators to obtain individual feedback. During December 2007, survey forms were mailed to over 500 tourism operators. Results of the survey and additional insurance information was presented at the 6th Annual Nature & Rural Tourism Conference. View the survey results here. NDNRTA is currently discussing the results of the survey and available options with insurance providers in the state. |
Inventory of North Dakota Tourism Resources - October 2007
The North Dakota Association of Rural Electric Cooperatives has assisted the North Dakota Nature & Rural Tourism Association in compiling a comprehensive list of hundreds of tourism attractions, operators, and service providers in the state. This information will be used for various association activities including liability insurance reform and further development of tourism opportunities in North Dakota.
